The current challenge was completed today and was unsuccessful. We went back to the previous version of our robot which worked much better. This includes the claw with the hook attached below it.

As we continue our journey in Vex robots we seem to struggle creating and upgrading our robot to complete these challenges. Joe has come up with a gear ratio and arm design to create more torque and lift the mobile goal. This may allow us to succeed.

December 7, 2017

The arm we have designed took longer than we have expected but has been completed today. This gives the robot a substantial amount of torque compared to our last arm. The mobile goal can easily be held and will possibly be able to carry it to the second goal.

Sadly the arm did not workout due to the small amount of time given until the next competition. Once again we have decided to revert back to our previous design to hopefully score some points on this next challenge.

The team competition was today and it went well. Our first few matches were not how we wanted them to go because of the unfortunate situation we were in when we were going 1 versus 2 in the competition. Later on we started to get the hang of it and put up good score. All in all, this was a good experience and was fun to participate in.

Our new challenge is Autonomous, so our first task was to super torque our claw which unfortunately did not go as planned. Joe was not able to fully torque it because of gears that would not work when moving.

We have attempted to code our robot and has problems such as moving too far and not moving at all. This slowed our progress toward completing autonomous, so we have to work harder to fix the issues.

Today we had to complete the autonomous challenge. Our robot malfunctioned and we were unable to complete our challenge this day. Our right motor for the wheels did move so we could not go straight.

At the start of our day the cortex decided to start smoking and burn out. Along with that our code was not working so we had to completely redo it. Everything else on the robot is working properly

Our individual challenge was today and we had issues seen from a mile away. This is a usual occurence with out robot, but we used our final attempt to score 13 points. This is not the best we could do but at this time it was.

January 24th, 2018

We had a second chance with the individual challenge. Although we did score more points than the first time it was still a small amount of points. We got 15 on our own which is usually the most we can score.

Today we participated in the team tournament and had some victories and many losses. Our losses were mainly due to motor controller unplugs, tipping over, and connection failures, but we took them proudly, sort of. This tournament was a good way to utilize our robots skills and allowed us to see our weaknesses.

Today we chose our final teammates. We paired with Jace's team and did not win much. We were eliminated in the first round. At the end we had a 4 vs 4 to end the day off.
